What happens in a Jikiden Reiki session?
A Jikiden Reiki treatment session lasts from 60 to 90 minutes depending on the option you have chosen.
We begin with a short consultation with Debbie-Ann, all details are held in the strictest confidence.
Most people find Jikiden Reiki treatments deeply relaxing… Lying or sitting, you remain fully dressed throughout the treatment… so it’s a good idea to wear something comfortable that’s not too tight at the waist or neck. However, you will be asked to remove your shoes before getting onto a massage/treatment couch. If for some reason lying down is not possible, you can receive Reiki sat in a chair or sat up on the couch. We have plenty of pillows and warm blankets for your support and comfort
To begin, hands are placed on the head and then on your feet… this produces a flow of Reiki throughout your body. There are no “Set hand positions” or sequences to follow… Jikiden Reiki practitioners place their hands where the Byosen (toxins) levels are highest. We move our hands around during a treatment to focus Reiki where it is needed most, so they will stay in areas of concern longer than others and may even move several times during the treatment session. To help speed up the release of toxins from muscles and joints… We may also squeeze, rub or pat areas of your body; naturally we will talk about this with your first.
Each Jikiden Reiki session induces a deep state of relaxation, creating a clam breathing space in mind and body as the Reiki flows… So that the whole body can recharge and heal itself naturally.
To finish, we give you a short Kekko… which can best be described as a light massage; it’s a traditional Reiki technique that stimulates your blood and lymphatic circulation and it really helps with releasing toxins from the body and completes the restorative work. It only takes a few minutes… but it is a great way to end your session… along with a drink of water, if you wish.
Receiving a Jikiden Reiki session is simple, deeply relaxing and effortless… something to savour and return to.
There is also a technique which works directly on the mind, a traditional method created by Usui Sensei. An effective treatment method for quitting unwanted habits Seiheki Chiryo … like smoking cigarettes, bed wetting, anxiety, panic attacks and phobias; fear of things like flying, dogs, the dentist etc… without having to go into lengthy discussion. It has also been used for deep-rooted traumatic experiences… helping the person to move on in life.
This treatment method can be also used by people who would like to treat themselves, who do not want to even discuss the situation with anyone else… It is taught at the Okuden Level of Jikiden Reiki
How can Jikiden Reiki help me?
Reiki has been shown to stimulate and accelerate the body’s natural ability to heal itself. It balances the flow of Ki (Life-force energy) within the body so that it flows freely. It is when our life-force energy is blocked that diss-ease or disease occurs in our mind and/or body.
Mikao Usui said “Reiki is successful in treating all kinds of illness, both psychological and physical.”
Who can benefit from Jikiden Reiki?
Reiki is a simple, yet profound system of holistic healing that is non-denominational, people of all faiths around the world can and do use Reiki. It is safe, gentle and non-invasive having only positive results. The techniques of Jikiden Reiki are highly effective at treating many long standing health concerns… as well as acute conditions.
Most people find Jikiden Reiki treatments deeply relaxing… but Reiki is also great for maintaining good health or when you just feel in need of a health boost… So you can take life in your stride!
What will I experience during a session?
Many people say they feel deeply relaxed and some fall asleep…
Many tell me how energised they feel following a Kekko massage… its as if all the “weight” they had been carrying around, just slipped away.
Reiki will flow to where it is needed in just the right amounts, it is working to bring balance and harmony from within.
How will I feel after a Jikiden Reiki session?
For some they are amazed at how they can move freely again, without pain…
With some long standing issues this can take a few session and by noticing gradual improvements, you can see how your body is naturally restoring health and wellbeing.
Paying attention to such progress, can help with motivating you to continue with a full course of Reiki treatments. For chronic or serious health conditions this may well take more than 4 treatment sessions. Where you are prepared to allow Debbie-Ann Champion to make a case study, then treatments can be reduced and arranged at a mutually acceptable rate…
At the end of your Jikiden Reiki session, you will be offered a glass of water. There is usually time for you to ask any questions and we can talk about your session if you wish…
Are there any Contra-indications or bad side effects?
Reiki stimulates your body to heal itself, working from the inside out to bring balance and harmony to the whole of you. It is a truly Holistic Healing Therapy… Safe and effective, for the achievable wellbeing of All.
Mikao Usui said “No, it doesn’t use any medication or medical equipment and has no side effects.”
What is Reiki?
Reiki practitioners use the life force energy of “Ki” that is all around us, they are able to transmit or pass this energy on, by simply placing their hands on the body.
Reiki originated in Japan at the turn of the 20th Century. The founder Mikao Usui (1865 – 1926) developed this method of hands on healing in 1922 following his retreat on Mt Kurama in Kyoto, Japan. The original term being
心身改善臼井靈氣療法 = Shin Shin Kaizen Usui Reiki Ryoho
“Usui Reiki Treatment Method for Improvement of Body and Mind”.
Reiki stimulates and accelerates our natural healing process in a positive way; it works on the mind, body and spiritual levels to bring balance and harmony for our achievable wellbeing.
Mikao Usui Sensei’s words, obviously translated into English…
“Usui Reiki Ryoho is an unprecedented treatment method and I believe it should be made accessible to everyone so that anyone can benefit from the divine blessing and happiness it brings. This Reiki Ryoho is a unique treatment deriving from the spiritual energy in the Universe which will help people improve their physical wellbeing and, in turn, will being peace of mind and happiness in life“
Is there a difference between Jikiden Reiki and Reiki?
Reiki as it was developed and taught by Mikao Usui to Chujiro Hayashi – Who was a medical doctor and one of the original 20 “Shihans” = teachers created by the founder in 1925,
- By Chujiro Hayashi to Chiyoko Yamaguchi … When she was just 17 years old, who raised her 4 children using only the healing energy methods of Reiki.
- By Chiyoko Yamaguchi to her son Tadao Yamaguchi … Who started giving Reiki treatments with his mother at the age of 15 and now shares this knowledge with the world through the Jikiden Reiki Kenkyukai (Institute).
“This is what I have learnt form Tadao Yamaguchi and now share with you. Authentic Japanese Reiki that is Pure and Simple … Safe and Effective.” Debbie-Ann Champion
